Week 2021-48 #4
Hello,
It's Juno again and I'm bringing your UXUI Sunday edition is here.
To start here is a quote that I love about daily rituals.
We must religiously pursue our chosen passion. Creativity is augmented by routines and habits. Amateurs work when they’re inspired, but professionals work every day.–John Weiss
Prototyping in Figma
On this page, you will find some guidance about the different options of easing in animation. Below you will find a Figma tutorial but I also recommend you to watch the webinar hosted by the gummy bear addicted and Ironhack instructor, Daniela Castro Animating Micro-interactions With Figma.
Better Personas
I would like to recommend you to watch this talk Personas: Behaviors Before Roles, there are some good tips to design a better Persona for your next project. You can also find some notes here.
Also, I started reading this book from DuckDuckGo founder Super Thinking: The Big Book of Mental Models.
The Minimum Viable Research
I'm still reading the book Just Enough Research, it's fantastic how you can approach in the most realistic way your future research. To help you to make your minimum User Research you can use this template to start organizing your research. And also com good tips to do unbiased research.
But Juno...
Yes, organizing your research it's a process so I would recommend you to test Dovetail and UserBit. Both platforms are paid. I used UserBit in past projects and is really good, or you can do a quick sprint and use the trial time.
Here you can also find some extra tools for your research.
Bad design
Even doing your best in UX you maybe will not deliver a good product, so try to review and check this good video about Web Design Mistakes.
And part of your process should be design documentation, I used a lot Zeplin in multiplatform environments. I tried this Figma Measure plugin in my company and it's pretty interesting to define measurement on your Design System.
Another artifact that can help you a lot is building some good Style Guide structure to validate and keep some consistency.
📰 Independent Publishing
I was reading this article about independent publishing and remind me a lot about our Editorial project during the bootcamp.
I wanna design 3 independent publishing one focused on:
Coffee
Hip-Hop culture
Travel
If you are interested to collaborate in UI, illustrations, and coding or know someone please shoot me a message at hello@uxui.email.
🤓 Nerd
Some of you know and I was doing the Web Dev BootCamp, as a student, to challenge myself. Yesterday we presented the final project and we were selected to present on the next HackShow. I had this idea for music jam a long time and working together with Lea and Nahuel to build it was awesome. I wanna polish the design and launch it as a real Web App. I wanna also wanna explore more the UX in this project, if you wanna join me let me know.
Next week I will be in Atlanta, Georgia. If you have any tips please feel free to send me on my Instagram.
See you next week!
