Week 2021-45 #1
Hey,
It's Juno.
I started this newsletter to keep in touch with you and share new topics or updates in UX/UI.
If you have any suggestions, please send your thoughts to submit@uxui.email.
Below you will find some excellent references for this first edition and I hope it will be helpful for you.
Empathy and the future of work
As you know everything starts with empathy and I always believed that companies should change their structure to create a more flexible schedule. Maybe working only 6 hours a day and 4 days a week could be a great start. Less time means more focus. In addition, read this article about The Future of Work.
Empathy is the biggest innovation – Satya Nadella
If you remember your first week at Ironhack, get some tips on how to solve your wicked problem project.
Card Accessibility
As you know I love the Accessibility topic and Mastercard introduced new shapes for vision-impaired people to identify different types of cards (credit, debit, or prepaid).
Adobe Max
How to properly break your design system
From Adobe Max, I'm still very disappointed with Adobe XD updates... I will let you know soon. But I loved to watch these two sessions:
How SiriusXM is designed for cars displays. and a cool approach on how to not make your design look like a (colored 🎨) wireframe.
For now, I'm keeping Figma as my main design tool 🏆
And if you have already forgotten everything about prototyping in Figma, watch this great tutorial using the Spotify app 🎵.
REM, PX, PT, EM?
If you still have so many questions about how to use it read this great article and test the comparison between REM and EM in this Codepen.
To define a better scale for your Typography use this tool.
Events
Tomorrow Ironhack Miami will host this amazing workshop: Using UX and Research for Regenerative Design.
